Kings XI Punjab defeated Chennai Super Kings by 6 wickets with the help of KL Rahul (71 runs) in an IPL match played at the IS Bindra Stadium in Mohali.

Punjab finished the league with victory. Chennai, batting first, scored a score of 170 for five wickets, which Punjab got after losing 4 wickets with 2 overs remaining.

This is the sixth win in 14 matches of Punjab, which has already been out of play before the runoff, and finished the league with 12 points remaining at number six. At the same time, it was 5th defeat in 14 matches of Chennai, which had already qualified for the playoffs. The team is at top with 18 points.

Opener Rahul and Chris Gayle (28), who came to chase the target of 171 runs from Chennai, made a solid start in the 10.3 overs, with the best partnership of 108 runs in 10.3 overs.
